Jeremy + Eddie’s New England Wedding

Jeremy & Eddie met in late 2005 in St Petersburg Florida.  A mutual friend introduced them. They talked and dated for a few months, when Jeremy asked Eddie “what are you doing New Year’s Eve?” They commemorate that first of a myriad of “firsts” every January 1st.  The years that followed brought investments of time, ideals, mutual trust and respect, and love.  A trip to Key West in July 2012 was orchestrated as a mere get-away. Not so unusual for Jeremy& Eddie, who are well-reputed to fly off anyplace if not only for the rest & relaxation, but for friends or just the experience! Under the guise of a graduation celebratory extended weekend for Eddie, who had recently completed training in massage therapy quickly burgeoned into a surprise celebration with 26 of some of their closest friends! There, at sunrise, Jeremy proposed marriage. They are a reverent couple, Northern born and raised, where Christmas means family and snow. It was easy to decide to marry in Connecticut, where Jeremy’s family lives, and who are numerous, and Jeremy & Eddie have in the past enjoyed beautiful Christmases. The wedding. The planning. The decisions! More intense than renovating a 66 year old house – and harder! For two boys who were raised in the Catholic church and, and forced to confront their own differences with its teachings, but who still managed to establish a strong relationship with Jesus Christ; two boys who never thought it would be possible for them, and so never had any real idea of the event that is – in so many ways – defining, Jeremy & Eddie are particularly excited that it’s being done in a Church! A quintessentially New England church, in winter – a season they both believe fosters bonds of friends and family; a season they both believe holds its own quiet, introspective, beauty. So they are particularly excited that it – the marriage – is an intimate gathering, and testament to their ideal for their future. ” Jeremy

Isn’t that a wonder for story! The day of the wedding the couple wore matching baby blue vests with a matching blue boutonnieres affixed to black tuxes. They choose to do a first look and an exchange of gifts. Following that were candid portrait shots along a near by country road. And if you look real close you can see there’s some snow on the ground! When we finished they had a few moments to their selves alone before the ceremony began. Eddie and Jeremy married at the First Church of Christ ( www.myfcc.info/ ) Mansfield,CT and the ceremony was led by a very welcoming Pastor Joe. Witnessing the event was about 30 close family and friends. Afterward the ceremony was complete and the couple were officially married everyone traveled a short distance to the quant Altnaveigh Inn and Restaurant for a few cocktails and a tastey dinner presented by owners Douglas and Gail Parks (www.altnaveighinn.com). The decor was seasonal, warm and inviting. The evening came to a close with the official cake cutting and cheers with the guests.

And of course I can’t forget to mention assisting me with this wedding was the very talented Stacey from Stacey M Photography.
